Thanks for your reply.  I started the web management service and got a blank page which is a change from an error page and perhaps it will have to be running for a while.  I'll check tomorrow.

nslookup viphost

viphost.vipdomain.vipclubber.com can't find viphost: Server failed

hmmm... how do I fix this?

Thanks for the tip. I was able to start the service by stopping the Quest Foglight agent that was running on the box first and then restarting VCO. The article points out that increasing RAM would help, however the VM was already set at 10GB, with plenty available to the JVM, but I was still seeing the issues mentioned in the wrapper.log file.

I did work with VMWare on this issue and was able to test the sandbox build with the fix included, I was unable to reproduce the issue with that build and am waiting on the patch release to production as keviom indicated.  If i receive a better time frame for release I will post it here.

Thank you, WoodyZ. A hundred times, thank you.

A simple swap of the file you provided for the corrupt one, tell Fusion I copied the VM and everything now seems to work fine.

A proper backup of the Money file in question has been made to avoid this in the future, and I'll be following your VM backup best practices so I don't have to trouble you again.

Thanks again.

Hi,

the registry change did also not work for me. But if you change the behavior via the GPO it did!

In "View PCoIP General Session Variables"

Enable "Enable access to a PCoIP session from a vSphere console".

Now everything is fine.

Thank you for all suggestions so far!

JarryG,

So you are saying to do "aprox" 6-8 drives each raid 0+1 (10) gives me about 4 raid sets.

that would be faster to the storage array then say 12 sets of raid 1? is it less work for storage array?

Reason I ask is because normally I would layer on top of each raid 1 to spread out load.

Replace values of columns in VM list view

Hi,

I wanted to know if we can change the values of existing/standard columns e.g. In the virtual machines list view, can i change say the 'status' value of certain VMs from say 'Normal' to 'Alert'?

I understand that the plugin SDK allows to add new columns to this view but can I change values within the existing/standard columns based on some conditions?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers,

Yogesh

It should be this one below, that's the one I have used in all my environments and its the one in the blog post as well.

libXdmcp-1.1.1-3.el6.x86_64.rpm

Safest way to remove in-use storage

We are decommissioning multiple old ESXi4.1 hosts from our environment after having migrated all the VMs off of them and on to new ESXi5.1 blade hosts.

Storage was presented to both types of hosts to allow the cold migration of the VMs, but now that we are done and want to send the old hosts to the data center in the sky, I'm wondering how to safely go about unpresenting the storage.

I've use this article in the past when removing storage from a host, but it was in a situation where no VMs were on the datastores as step one indicates here;

Best Practice: How to correctly remove a LUN from an ESX host | VMware vSphere Blog - VMware Blogs

In this case though the datastores are chock full of VMs that are running and need to stay running.

So my question is, how do I go about unpresenting the storage from these old hosts without causing issues for the VMs running on the datastores?

Thanks

This log is from my phone that was connected via wifi.  But we have had the same/similar errors from tablets on wifi here in the building and over 4G LTE.  The Zimbra server is running on a Virtual Machine with 8 gigs of RAM and a 4 core Xeon E5506 processor.

Each time I search here for script solutions:

LucD posts the solution and also this time You were right. I installed the 5.1 R2 and the cmldet works. Thank You

Regarding possible other problems:

I have 2 maintaine VMs to run powercli scripts etc . The mainscript VM still has the 4.0  version installed and the other one the 5.1 R2

so i can figure out problems and compare.

is there a way to pass a USB device to the VM from the guest machine using PowerCLI?

Hi Guys,

I have installed the vSphere PowerCLI on my machine. Is it possible to map a USB device connected to my machine to a vSphere VM through command line? I am able to do this currently using the vSphere client UI.

When i went though the PowerCLI documentation I could find only "Get-UsbDevice" and "Remove-UsbDevice". I need something to Add-Usbdevice and list USB devices. Please let me know if there is any way to achieve it from command line. Greatly appreciate you help in this matter.

Thanks,

-Ajith
